Harsh Eye Clinic is an General Ophthalmology clinic in Chinchwad, Pune. The clinic is run by ophthalmologist Dr. Nitin Ghogare. The timings of Harsh Eye Clinic are: Mon to Sat: 10:00am-1:00pm, 5:00pm-8:30pm.

Dr. Nitin Ghogare is M.S. in ophthalmology passed out in 1998. He was working as ophthalmologist in Talera Hospital of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation for ten years since 1998. Now he is in full fledge private practice & owns well equipped eye hospital named as “Harsh Eye Clinic” on the above mentioned location since October 2007. He also conducts surgeries at Niramay Hospital, Chinchwad & Gandhi Nursing Home, Nigdi.

“Harsh Eye Clinic” is registered with Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (Reg no 294) and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. The biomedical waste disposal is done according to the standards of MPCB. “Harsh Eye Clinic” is cashless service provider(Network Hosp) of Future Generali Health Insurance, Vidal Health TPA Pvt Ltd (formerly TTK TPA P L), Paramount Health Services TPA Pvt Ltd, Health India TPA Pvt Ltd, HDFC ERGO Health Insurance, Max Bupa Health Insurance, Dedicated Health Services TPA Pvt Ltd, Spurthi Meditech, Mayur Ericsson TPA, Rothshield, Tata motors, ThyssenKrup etc. Harsh Eye Clinic maintains all the patients’ records electronically.

The clinic area is of 700sq.ft. The OPD area is about 150 sq. ft. OT is about 120sq. ft. Autoclaving and scrubbing area is about 50sq.ft. Day care area with 2 beds is about 110 sq. ft. with attached toilet. Waiting area is 250sq.ft.The basic hygiene of the clinic is thoroughly maintained.

General Guidelines


Regarding Pediatric age group


  • If child is reading the book from very close distance or watching the television from very close distance then they need immediate thorough eye checkup.
  • If child is squinting then they need immediate eye checkup. If the treatment is initiated at the earliest then long term consequences can be avoided.
  • Recurrent style, redness, watering of eyes, irritation etc can be sign of refractive error/spectacle number.
  • If a child has refractive error then follow up should be done every six months.
  • If only one eye has large number and the other eye is normal then it may remain unnoticed for long hence vision should be checked by closing each eye.


Regarding youngsters


  • Frequent motorcycle riders should always wear protective glasses or helmet to avoid long term consequences.
  • Those working in machine shops should always wear safety goggles to avoid exposure to metallic foreign body or welding arc.
  • If there is any chemical injury to the eye then it should be immediately washed with copious amount of tap water.
  • The computer users should blink very frequently while working and should have plenty of water to avoid dryness of eyes. Same thing applies for frequent television watchers.


Regarding adults


  • If there is difficulty in reading the newspaper or threading a needle then they require near vision glasses after thorough eye check up (Usually after 40yrs of age).
  • Haloes around the light, on & off pain, watering of eyes and intolerance to light and frequent changes in the spectacle number can be the sign of glaucoma.
  • Blurring of vision, haloes, watering and inability to see in bright light or dark can be the sign of cataract.
  • If there is history of diabetes for 5 or more years then you need to examine your retina every six months to avoid blindness.
